RSSBe brief. That’s the point–we want to read a critical summary, not the whole thing. Can you print it onto one or two double-spaced pages?
Be thorough. Discuss the theory, the research design, the empirical findings, the contribution to the literature, and maybe even the article’s relevance to real life.
Be clear. Billions of people will read your work, so write as well as you can. Well, maybe not billions, but thousands.
Be fair. Most of your review should be a non-critical summary of the main points. The critical portions should both praise and (constructively) criticize. What do we learn from this work? What more should be done?
Be honest. Don’t review something you haven’t read.
Be interesting. Choose research from respected journals and publishers to review. I’m sure your last conference paper was fascinating, but don’t summarize it here until it gets published.
Be active. Our site thrives on your participation. If you have time to write a review, great. If you don’t, read and comment on other people’s reviews.
